DescriptionSweet, sour, salty, spicy!! Almost all taste profiles in one dish. Ingredients
InstructionsYou will need a clay morter and a wooden pestal to make this dish! 1. In the morter and pestal, add the thai chilli peppers and garlic gloves; pound the two ingredients together until well mashed 2. add the palm sugar, fish sauce, shrimp paste, msg, tomatoes, squeezed lime juice; incorprate the ingredients together in the morter and pestal 3. add the papaya and shredded carrots in morter and pestal; pound all ingredients together well 4. you may serve this over a small bed of chopped lettuce or use the lettuce as a wrap Please know that this receipe is not set in stone, you may alter the spicy levels or the sweet/sour taste to your liking. if you can't find an ingredient you can subsitute with anything. NotesI have grown up eating this dish almost everyday with sticky rice and sometype of BBQ. Each individual has their own twist on this recipe; it is served in every lao home you go to. Warning! Not for the faint of hearts, it has a strong smell and flavor profile.
