So Im taking Andrew Zimmern's advice and immersing myself outside my comfort zone into a very different cutlure, Chinese culture that is!  Today we had a guest speaker, Dr. Jane Zhou, from China come and speak to our Sport Tourism class about Sport tourism in China.  She also discussed food for a while and the difference between Chinese food in the USA and Chinese food in China, much like what Zimmern discussed in Des Moines this past weekend while demonstrating dumpling cooking.  After class let out I approached Dr. Zhou and asked about traditional food and expressed my interst in trying some of her cooking.  She said she would be more than happy to invite me into her home at some point this semester to try some of it!  Needless to say, I am very excited about this experience and I look forward to discussing on this site, some of the food I will eventually try!
