Green Sauce with Avocado

Description

This sauce pairs perfectly with my Yucatan Shrimp with Green Chiles.

Ingredients

  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 2 serrano chiles, minced
  • 0.5 lb tomatillos, husked, rinsed and quartered
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 3 T fresh cilantro leaves
  • 2 T fresh lime juice

Instructions

Combine the chiles, onion, salt, garlic, tomatillos and cilantro in a mortar and pestle or in a food processor and combine to a chunky paste.

Peel, seed and chop the avocado… fold in to the sauce with the lime juice.

Season and serve quickly
