arkansas speakeasy soul food

Over the last couple years friends talk about homes that open to sell food from the front door. You walk up give $6 and get the plate of the day. These are usually in poorer neighborhoods in Little Rock. I've had a couple of these plates and they are really good. The only problem is they are hard to find and only word of mouth. Sometimes these morph into little down home soul kitchens in actual retail spaces. I'm trying to find one of these soul kitchens but so far no luck. The last two I knew about have moved on. Is this common in other places?
